SHINee (샤이니) - Lucifer

SHINee (샤이니) is a contemporary R&B boy band from Seoul, South Korea. Formed by SM Entertainment in 2008, they made their debut on May 25, 2008 on SBS’s Popular Songs with their promotional single, “Nunan Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)” (“누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay)”. The group consists of Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin.

Since their debut, SHINee has won numerous awards. They have also starred in their own reality show based on their song, “Nunan Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)”. SHINee are considered to be a fashion icon having starting the “SHINee Trend”, which is popular amongst the younger generation.

INFINITE - First Invasion

Infinite (Korean: 인 피니트) is a 7-member boy band.

Formed by leader Sung Gyu, Ho Won, Sung Jong, Woo Hyun, Dong Woo, Myung Soo, and Sung Yeol, the seven-member group is from the same company as Epik High and Nell, Woollim Entertainment.

T-Max - Born to the Max Album

T-Max (티맥스) is a South Korean all-male band. Members consist of 3 vocalists and a main rapper, who are Shin Minchul (vocalist), Kim Joon (rapper), Hanbi and Chanyang who joined T-Max in 2010.

Former member: Park Yunhwa (vocalist).

They have often been called the “Korean w-inds.” (comparing them to the Japanese pop group w-inds.), due to their trio nature and musical style, which many note, has a certain Japanese flavour.

T-max released full album “Born to the Max” in 2010 as a 4 members group.

They have also released 5 singles, and have contributed to the Boys Over Flowers and God of Study OSTs. Singles include: Blooming (July 2007), Lion Heart (November 2007), Run to You (December 2008), Single Collection (July 2009), Love Parade (September 2009).

Member Kim Joon starred as a member of the F4 in the Korean drama “Boys Over Flowers” (꽃보다 남자). In addition, T-max added to their OST collection in late 2008 by singing the main theme for the drama.

Park Yunhwa was known for participating in “Battle Shinhwa”, a show that centered around popular idol band Shinhwa searching and selecting members to create a new boyband.

Recently, Yunhwa was featured in “Mak Ban Shi” or “Maknae Rebellion” a show designed to bring popular idol group maknaes (ie. youngest member) out in the light. Currently he’s serving in army (year 2010)

The Dilinger Escape Plan - Option Paralysis

The Dillinger Escape Plan is a band from Morris Plains, New Jersey. The band performs a fast-tempo, technically proficient style of music popularly known as mathcore. The band recorded their second EP with Relapse Records in

1998 entitled Under the Running Board. A year later, this was followed with the album Calculating Infinity, which was met with great acclaim from both underground and mainstream press. The band were renowned in the hardcore scene for the intensity of their performances, which have at times incorporated spectacular light shows, fireworks, fire breathing, and other special effects.

While the band’s lineup has changed over the years, in part due to a variety of injuries, guitarist Ben Weinman and former drummer Chris Pennie have been present in many of the lineups. After the departure of vocalist Dimitri Minakakis in 2000, the band held a nationwide search and selected Greg Puciato as the new singer. The band has since released three full length albums with Puciato on vocals: 2004’s Miss

Machine, 2007’s Ire Works and 2010’s Option Paralysis.

Early years (1996–1998)

The band’s beginnings can be traced back to a hardcore band called Arcane. Previous to Arcane, Adam Doll, John Fulton and Chris Pennie played together in the bands Samsara and Malfactor from 1992–1997. Managed by longtime friend Tom Apostolopoulos and guitarist Ben Weinman, Arcane recorded a self-titled demo under the name The Dillinger Escape Plan which Now or Never Records offered to release on CD. Shortly before their first tour under the new name, guitarist Derek Brantley left the group and was replaced by John Fulton.

Rolo Tomassi - Cosmology

Rolo Tomassi are a band from Sheffield, England. Their name is taken from the fictional character Rollo Tomasi in the film LA Confidential. The band formed in 2005 and set their local scene alight by playing a synth driven technical mix of styles and genres difficult to define in a single word.

The band self-released their first demo shortly after forming. Shortly after the band pursued a tape release via danger!laser!phaser!razor! where only 200 copies were made. After a split EP with Mirror! Mirror! the band signed to Holy Roar records after building up a reputation for a fearsome, energetic live show.

With Holy Roar the band released their self titled EP. This EP featured re-recorded songs from previous demo’s and EP’s amongst newer songs. To support this EP the band toured up and down the country numerous times, mainly supporting bigger bands such as I Was a Cub Scout and 65daysofstatic.

In June 2008, Rolo played a very well received show at Download Festival. Currently the band have signed to Hassle Records, and released their debut album, entitled ‘Hysterics’, on 22nd September 2008.

In August 2009, Rolo played at Underage Festival, which on the whole was recieved well by the audience.

On May 24th, 2010, Rolo Tomassi released their sophomore album, Cosmology, the follow up to the bands debut Hysterics. It quickly recieved positive reviews from such reviewers as the BBC. The first single from the album; Party Wounds, was released on the bands MySpace a few weeks prior to Cosmology’s release.

HIMEKA - ♥Anison ~Utatte Mita~ (♥アニソン ～歌ってみた～)

Catherine St-Onge (professionally known as HIMEKA, born July 20th) is an anime song singer of French Canadian descent. While fluent in English and her native French, she is moderately proficient in Japanese.

An anime fan and native of Quebec, St-Onge moved to Japan to pursue her singing career in 2008. She was the winner of the Second Annual Animax Anison Grand Prix, a competition similar to American Idol that gathers aspiring singers from all over Japan for the chance to make a professional debut and sing a theme song in an anime television show. She was the first contestant in the show’s history to break the 90-point barrier from the judges’ scoring panel. Her debut single, “Asu e no Kizuna” (明日へのキズナ), is the opening theme to the anime adaptation of the Playstation 3 video game, Valkyria Chronicles.

The name Himeka was from a character she created in a fictional story she wrote when she was 13 years old.
